When I’m explaining trauma work to my patients, I share how when we are children we don’t have the ability to put things in context for ourselves, that we just have to swallow experiences and the impressions from them wholesale. And, the vast majority of the time adults don’t attend to how events affect a child well enough, if at all.  Which leaves the child having to carry that pain inside, and one of the primary aspects of therapy is to help the patient attend to those experiences, and the resulting thoughts and feelings that can be so crushing.  Being able to share what happened and what was it like for that person is the first step.  The second part is for them to be able to get the releases of all that pent-up emotionality that they need to, which I recently likened to your basement has been flooded and you need to get all that water out otherwise mold starts to grow or keeps growing.

The Breathtaking World of Anxiety

Welcome!

First and foremost, this is a home for people looking to have a healthy relationship with anxiety, whether it is your anxiety, another person's anxiety,  or social anxiety.

Through my 19 years as a therapist, a researcher, and my personal struggles, I've learned much about the human condition. I am here to share my experiences, knowledge, and resources.   Following is a radio interview I did regarding anxiety sometime ago:

I am providing my handouts that I use when working with individuals and couples free of charge for anyone interested in them.  I hope you find my material useful.  Your feedback is appreciated.

Thank you,

Trevor Huskey

Those I Have Helped

Trevor continues to be a great help in finding ways that help me think through situations and gain more confidence in my actions. I look forward to our sessions and feel as if I’m gaining helpful knowledge each week.

I recognize that our case is very challenging for a therapist, and Trevor shows an excellent ability to manage it.

Trevor is easy to talk to. He is sincere, he listens without judgement, he’s full of knowledge and funny. It’s like talking to a

friend who knows how to listen very well and says the right things.

These sessions with Trevor Huskey have been super helpful for me.

Trevor is a great listener, lets me finish my ramblings while somehow categorizing the things I’ve said to provide structure to my madness.

My provider is considerate but direct. Has great insight and ideas for resolving problems.
